What is Symbols?
Early Childhood, Elementary School and High School Level Tutoring
Symbols Learning’s flexible, multisensory approach is highly effective in teaching any child to read, write or improve in math. We specialize in helping kids with learning differences (or learning difficulties), such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, ADHD, processing difficulties, output challenges, autism, and speech difficulties by offering one-on-one, multisensory, customized lessons based on the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach.
Literacy & Language Education Tutoring
Symbols helps your child with their reading and writing goals by supporting phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary development, and comprehension.
Numeracy & Math Education Tutoring
Symbols helps your child build speed and understanding for sequences, mental math skills, and fact recall. Students learn explicit strategies for place value, pen-to-paper computation questions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing), and literacy-based math areas, like word problems.
One-on-One Orton-Gillingham Tutoring for Children with Learning Difficulties and Differences
OG is a multisensory approach, meaning that concepts are presented to each child and learned using the four main learning pathways: visual (eyes to see), auditory (ears to hear), tactile (hands to feel) and kinesthetic (body to move).
One-on-One Orton-Gillingham Tutoring for Children with Learning Difficulties and Differences
In-person lessons in our centers aren't always practical or possible. Our online lessons offer the same 1-to-1, individualized, multisensory format as our in-person lessons, and include a free multisensory home learning kit delivered to your door.
